Jamaican teens at greatest risk of cancer - report

Jamaican adolescent tobacco smokers are at the greatest risk for cancer, according to the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) and World Health Organisation (WHO) report Cancer in the Americas Country Profiles 2013.

The report noted that teenage tobacco smokers in Jamaica were 28.7 per cent of the adolescent population, compared to 15.1 per cent of adult smokers, which put them at greater risk for cancer-related diseases. http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20131108/lead/lead6.html
